What is Man's Greatest Need?
Our most urgent need is to accept God's gracious gift of salvation and discover the
forgiveness of sins through the shed blood of His Son, Jesus Christ. According to the Bible,
we must:
Realize that each of us is a sinner deserving of God's punishment. God says, "For
all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God" (Romans 3:23), and
"the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord"
(Romans 6:23).
Recognize that Jesus is the perfect
and sinless substitute payment for our sin. What we are unable to accomplish, no matter how
hard we try nor how good we think we are, Christ Jesus accomplished for us by His death and
resurrection: "But God commendeth his love toward us, in that while we were yet sinners,
Christ died for us" (Romans 5:8).
Receive Christ Jesus as your
personal Savior by individual, conscious, personal faith in Him as your Savior:
"Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved" (Acts 16:31).
