Two of the purposes for the existence of the church are to evangelize the lost and edify the believers. The Visitation Ministry of Parsippany Baptist Church is one of the many ways we seek to accomplish these goals in an organized fashion.
"Visitation" is that ministry where folks go out from our church into the community in an effort to be a blessing to those we visit. The group gathers on Tuesday evenings at 7:00 p.m. for brief devotions, prayer, organization, and distribution of calls to make. One Saturday a month we also gather on a Saturday morning at 10:00 a.m. for a delicious brunch before we head out to do our visiting. This has proved to be more convenient for some who cannot make a weekday night.
There are a variety of calls that can be made, depending upon a person's relationship to our church. For those who have visited us, we like to follow-up to get to know them better and to answer any questions they may have. We enjoy visiting our own church people too. Sometimes it is because they have been absent for a while and at other times we just want to stop by to encourage and enjoy Christian fellowship. We often attempt to make new contacts in the community to introduce people to the Gospel and to our church. Sometimes we visit folks who have recently moved into the area and other times we just go door-to-door.
We are convinced the Bible has the answer to all of life's issues, especially the most important matter of one's eternal destiny. It is an honor and a privilege to be God's ambassadors sharing the Good News from His Word. If you should know of someone desirous of a visit from one of our pastors or visitation teams, please do not hesitate to contact the church. We are here to be a help to you and know that God's Word can change lives for the better. Let us have the chance to show you how!
